Cinnamon's Story
by Joanna M.

Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi! I’m Cinnamon! I’m so excited! I want to tell everyone my story!

First, some stuff happened when I was just a pup. I don’t remember much of that part, and I never talk about it. Then, I was lost and ended up in a dog shelter. Oh! So, scary!

Let’s move onto the good stuff! I was rescued! I ended up in a foster home. I was a mess and scared, but my foster parents loved me and took great care of me. They were so patient and kind. I even had other dogs in my foster home that helped me learn how to play (and hunt)! I was pretty sick when I got to my foster parents home, and they helped me feel better.

I stayed with my foster family for a really long time. My foster parents said they would help me find the best family ever. They told me that they did some test and found out I wasn’t a cairn terrier like their other dogs. They said I was 50% miniature schnauzer, 25% chihuahua, 12.5% miniature poodle, and 12.5% Shih Tzu. I don’t know what all that means, but my parents say that all adds up to 100% lovable. I like that!

Finally, someone was interested in me and wanted to adopt me! My new parents had another little doggie who was scared of lots of stuff just like me. I was a nervous about changing homes, and I missed my foster parents who loved me so much. Then, I realized that my new family really wanted me. They loved me too! They were patient with me and let me take time to get used to my new home. Now, I just love them so much!

And you know what else? I have a sister! Her name is Jilly Bean, and we do EVERYTHING together! Our parents call us bookends. I don’t know what they mean by that; I just think they are saying they love us both. We play together, sleep together, share a water bowl, we hunt together, and we even go to the doctor together (that part isn’t fun, but at least I know my sister is there with me).

My parents say they are so glad they found me, and I’m glad to have a loving family of my own. I get to talk to them about everything. Woof!
