Miss Mandy

Roll out the welcome mat for the ever so dandy MIss Mandy! Mandy is the tiniest little Cairn ever weighing in at a little over 10 lbs. She is a fireball of activity until she crashes and burns. Don’t let the down time fool you, she is dreaming of ways to get into mischief during her awake hours! She loves toys and she loves stealing toys, food and attention from resident dog. For the most part resident dog takes it all in stride, but he will occasionally let out some low growls to let her not she is pushing his patience with her!

She has come a long way since her arrival. She arrived with a badly cut rear leg which fortunately has responded well to meds and she is healing nicely, but she has gone from a 3 legged dog to now on all 4’s and she can be like greased lightning when she hears her name called. She has a total fear of the leash so we have not yet been on a walk. We work on this daily but so far there is no progress to write about, She is so small and so far has only attempted to get on the sofa once. We have no problem with our furkids on the furniture, but unless we lift her up she stays on the floor. She loves attention, but she also loves her independence so if you are looking for a dog to cuddle all day she’s not the one! She is much too active and loves playing with her toys. Neither she nor resident dog, however, have learned to return them to their toy box! We are working on potty training and we are making progress, but Foster Mom would be fibbing if she said she has mastered this. She is a bit skittish and a bit of a barker, but all in all, an adorable little girl. Stay tuned for Mandy antics!
