Amira
Amira arrived at her foster home and greeted Foster Dad on June 27, 2015. Amira had such a severe yeast and bacterial infection of her skin that it was like an open wound.
Talking with Col. Potter's medical team, they related that normally it would take several years for a dog to get into this condition. Since Amira is between one and two years old they said that she had to be living in the most deplorable conditions possible.
Amira has had a full week of veterinary care which included being spayed, given all her shots and daily treatment for the yeast and bacterial infection. Foster Dad, with the help of Col. Potter, began a regimen of good grain-free food and high quality supplements to boost her immune system and cleanse her body of the infection. Amira also receives a medication which will assist her body from the inside, while daily baths improve her skin from the outside. In the short time Amira has been in the loving arms of Col. Potter, she has responded extremely well to the intense treatment that she requires.
