Giacomo
Giacomo (pronounced: ja-co'-moh) is a 10 year old brawnie laddie surrendered to a shelter due to health and behavioral issues the owner could no longer handle. Rescued by Col. Potter, he has been in our loving arms for a month, and thanks to many volunteers along the way, has ended up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas.
Giacomo is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He exhibited excessive drinking and urination, and is currently seeking treatment to have that issue resolved before beginning heartworm treatment. He needs an ultrasound of his kidneys and adrenal glands. He has food allergies and is currently being fed a salmon canine diet. He is also being treated for an ear infection which the vet said could have been caused by diet. His medical expenses are adding up and we need help getting this lad back to good health so he can find his Forever Home.
Giacomo is a muscular, active dog who was kept outdoors. He is very eager to please, wants very much to become an active, playful fellow again. He absolutely zones out with ear massages and head rubs. He is working on potty training and Foster Mom has seen great strides in this aspect. He has been dog aggressive in the past, but has now contented himself by ignoring Scooter next door through the fence. He is very loyal, very loving, playful and happy-go-lucky and wants to place himself in the heart of an adult family.
