Seamus
More About Seamus
This is Seamus (Shay-mus); this sweet boy lost his owner recently. He was a shy boy at first, but he has warmed up after several days. He is a senior dog and seems to be happy sitting by your side, watching TV or laying at your feet. He prefers the safety of his own home and backyard. He is skittish of sudden and loud noises on walks. So we just stay around the house where he is comfortable. He has not been aggressive with another dog. I have three and he’s been friendly from the start. He does let himself in and out of the house when nature calls.
Updates
UPDATE 8/27/2025: Foster Dad here: I have had this sweet boy since May. We have made a lot of progress in the time he has been with me. I have earned his trust in the beginning he would not let me touch him to where he’s actually sitting next to me now as I am writing this. He enjoys being in your company, not necessarily on your lap or needy. That way he just likes to be around you. He gets excited when you come home follows you around with enthusiasm. He is a type of dog that likes to be home as he gets a little bit of anxiety when he goes out in public. I have worked with him on walking in public and he just is not a fan of sudden noises or movements, so it is just not something I forced him to do. I believe he needs a mature couple with no small children. I feel like he would like to be the only dog.
UPDATE 6/9/2025: Seamus has been a sweet boy and seems to be doing much better the past few weeks; he is learning to trust me and actually is really pepped up his energy level when I arrive home from being at work. He greets me with the others running around Wagon his tail within enthusiasm. It has been a slow but steady journey on gaining trust with him. He is very skittish in the beginning and has warmed up. We have a physical therapist that comes to the house and he actually greets her and allows her to give pets. He has had a grooming where he has quite the stylish haircut. Everyone who meets him just loves him. I will not say he’s too fond of strangers. He doesn’t bark very much at all and keeps his distance till he warms up you.
