More About Rimini
Rimini came to us after spending the first 5.5 years of her life as a breeder dog. She is very skittish and easily startled by sudden movements or loud sounds. She is quite as a mouse and will often spend many hours quietly in her crate, but she loves laying next to you or on top of you being gently petted and won’t budge if you let her stay. She is looking for a quite and calm house with someone to sit with while you watch tv or read. She does seem to really enjoy walks, but she isn’t as thrilled about have a leash attached, so we are working on that. Amazingly, she seems 100% potty trained if you give her reasonable potty breaks outside but won’t ask to go out.
Because she is still trying to get the hang of being a pet and needs to learn that she is safe, she is not ready for adoption quite yet.
Updates
UPDATE 6/9/2025: Rimini has had awhile to settle in now and we think she’s ready to find a forever home. She needs a calm home that will help her build a sense of safety and security as she is still quite skittish. We are looking for a home with a man in it as she attached right away to foster dad, but is still fearful of foster mom. When she gets outside she is a very joyful and happy dog that loves to go on walks, but doesn’t care much for that leash thing we attach to her. We think she would do really well with another dog that would be interested in playing and running around with her in a fenced yard and help her learn what it means to be a pet.
