Darcy
More About Darcy
Darcy is a sweet dog. She is still a puppy in many ways. She is exuberant, bouncy, and nosey. She loves to sleep on the bed with you, on the couch next to you, or on your lap. She knows simple commands. She is working on her leash skills and how to chill when someone or something walks past the house. At 28 lbs, she would be best in a home with dogs her size or larger as she could overwhelm a smaller dog. She would not do well with cats or birds. If you are a hiker/walker – this girl was made for you. She is always ready to go.
Darcy’s DNA results are in and she is the following:
51% Yorkie
1% Chihuahua
30% Am Staff Terrier
1% GSD
1% American Bulldog
6% American Pitbull Terrier
The adoption fee for Darcy has been paid by a generous donor, ask your Matchmaker!

UPDATE 8/215/2025: Hi, I am Darcy. A rambunctious 3 year old wigglebutt. I am full of energy and would love an active family that would take me on walks and hiking. Foster mom says I am super smart and learn really fast. Foster mom did my genealogy and I am 51% Yorkshire terrier. The genes I seemed to have inherited from that rascal are a beautiful, soft black and gray wavy coat and some terriorist traits.
I would do well in a house with adults, teens, and tweens. Foster mom thinks I’m too rambunctious for littles regardless of whether they are 2 or four legged. I play hard. Think football tackle, lol. I also don’t like to share my food and toys with other dogs, even though I love to play with them. I would be happy as an only dog with dog park trips. I’d also be happy with another dog, my size and as playful as I am, but more chill when I’m in warp drive.
As rambunctious as I am, I like to relax, too. Foster mom marvels at how I can twist myself into a pretzel and sleep that way.
I’ve mostly been around women and it takes a few minutes to warm up to men. I am also a very good guardian/watch dog. I bark at anyone and anything that doesn’t belong in our yard or on our street, so a condo/apartment/HOA may not be an optimum dwelling for me.
Foster mom says there is a perfect home waiting for me, so I need to be patient. Maybe your home is it.
UPDATE 5/22/2025: Darcy is a still a puppy at nearly 3 years old. She is mouthy, rambunctious, and full of energy. She would love an active family of adults and/or teens who love to walk/hike and would play chase etc around a yard. Her play style is a lot like a pitbull. She is all in.
She would benefit from puppy classes. She knows some commands like sit, stop it, etc. She loves toys but if there are other dogs, she would resource guard them. She would do great with a dog her size or larger who could play with her but ignore her when she gets bossy.
