Transport Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in transporting for Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network (CPCRN). This is greatly appreciated. Often our ability in obtaining a rescue dog, or moving one of our dogs to a foster home or a newly adopted "forever home" totally depends on volunteers such as you to help in their transportation.

Please know that you are under NO OBLIGATION at any time to say yes in helping with transport. We fully understand that our volunteers may have other obligations at that time.

ALL transport volunteers will be given the full history on any dog(s) that you may be transporting PRIOR to the transport itself, so that you are aware of any issues that might impact you during transport.

ALL CPCRN dogs are transported in a fully enclosed vehicle and in a crate sized for their needs. We work closely with our transport volunteers on exact meeting places for your "leg," or segment, of the transport and you will be fully informed by email and/or telephone prior to your leg of a transport. Of course, you will be fully involved in decisions regarding hand-off dates, times, and locations for both ends of any leg in which you are involved.

Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network is a New York Not-for-Profit Corporation, and a 501(c)3 charitable corporation. We are able to provide you with a tax receipt for any approved expenses that you may have incurred during your transport according to transportation tax laws as they relate to a not-for-profit. We are also able to reimburse you for your expenses. PLEASE INFORM YOUR TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST THAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS NEEDED FOR A TAX RECEIPT OR THAT YOU WISH TO BE REIMBURSED WHEN YOU AGREE TO TRANSPORT AN INDIVIDUAL DOG. Reimbursement will be considered gifted if a request for reimbursement is not made within 30 days from your transport date.

Any and all information provided to CPCRN, remains within our system. Your provided information WILL NOT be shared, given or sold to any other group, organization or data collection group, and will remain confidential within the CPCRN network.

Before we accept your application as a Transport Volunteer, there are a few questions we need to ask to make sure that you fully understand CPCRN’s requirements to be able to do a transport:

2. CPCRN Cairns cannot be transported in the bed of an open pickup truck or a convertible with the top down. Will you be driving a fully enclosed and licensed vehicle when transporting?

If you are no longer able to be a transport volunteer and wish to remove your name from the Transport Database, please complete the following form:
