More About Odie

Hi – Meet Odie. He’s a wonderful spunky little Cairn boy ready to find his forever home. He came from a tough background and is going to need patience, love, gentleness, and understanding. No harsh words please. He will return that 100 times over and wants to be loved and to love you.

Odie would do best in a quiet home of gentle people who will only use positive reinforcement to help him become the dog he’s meant to be. Likely would do best as the only dog, or a laid-back chill doggy companion. Good with cats. Loves his walks and coming along nicely on leash training, making eye contact, sitting, and coming when called. Odie’s a climber and a great little problem solver – very smart! Once he graduates from basic training class, he could have a great future in dog sports like agility, nose work, tricks, etc. And if you like nature walks and hikes, he’s the dog for you. He especially likes problem solving feeding toys or hide and seek with his food because a plain old dinner bowl is just too boring. He loves to be out in the snow, learning to chase a ball, and running around the yard with his foster brothers. Now the rain is another matter. Not so crazy about the rain.

Odie will require a fenced yard and extra careful around gates as he always wants to be with his people – or chasing those pesky squirrels. Getting close on house training and new home will need to continue to work with Odie on this in a positive way. You will need to go out with him for potty breaks and reward him when the job is done. Otherwise, he hesitates to be out alone and doesn’t always finish his business. He is a great pup ready for his next adventure with the right home.
