More About Oakley
Hello WORLD – Hello Everyone!
My name is Oakley and I’m the cutest, cuddliest, kissiest, orneriest, tiny little girl you’ll ever meet. I’m just the greatest (uh, foster mom says I’m a bit full of myself right now).
My momma was rescued by Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network and I was born soon after that in Connecticut. A very wonderful lady named Arlene helped us be born and took really good care of us until, at 6 weeks old, my foster brother and sisters made a very LONG car ride to Illinois. We did get to stop in Pennsylvania and stayed overnight at Aunt Sandy Y’s house before we started the rest of our long journey to Illinois the next day. I was SO GOOD in all the cars we traveled in and I didn’t make a peep.
When we got to Illinois, I was greeted by my foster mom and dad and I wiggled my little bum and showered them with tons of kisses. I cuddled on their laps for the rest of the night with my littermates.
In the week I’ve been in my foster home, I’ve learned so much already. I’ve learned all about TOYS. I LOVE toys and the bigger the better. I LOVE to drag big stuffies all over the house. Sometimes I have to stop and look behind me and bark at the stuffie that’s following me. I LOVE to run and chase my littermates and I love to be chased by my littermates. Those nylabones that foster mom gives me just aren’t nearly as tasty as foster mom and dad’s fingers and toes.
I love my ground kibble 3 times a day. I don’t eat as much as my littermates do, but I’m only 2 lbs. so my tummy isn’t as big as theirs. Foster mom put some whole tiny kibble pieces on a blanket yesterday and I had a lot of fun flipping it all over the floor. I did manage to crunch one piece of kibble but I’d rather play with it than chew it. Foster mom put some more on the blanket today and I did manage to crunch a couple of pieces. Foster mom said it will be a while before I eat a bowl of kibble that isn’t ground up.
Yesterday we started what foster mom calls puppy pad training. It’s way too cold for a tiny little thing like me to go outside in below freezing, snowy weather but foster mom said I’m not too little to start puppy pad training. I’m doing pretty good at going potty on the pads when we are out for free time in the house. I’m a really smart little girl and want to please so I’m doing my best.
Last night was the first night that I was in my very own crate at bedtime. I’m used to curling up in a puppy pile with my littermates for sleep but I had a thick, warm blanket and after a couple of minutes of whining and crying, I curled up and slept all night.
I’m not quite ready for adoption because I need my first shots on 1/20/25. After that I should be ready for adoption. Get your apps in if you want a very tiny, loveable, cuddly, kissy, adorable little girl to call your own.
